May I Be Friend With You, Colonel Sanders?

Facebook unveiled yesterday a plan allowing brands to have their own Facebook profiles. Facebok users can become fans of the brands. In doing so, companies are getting closer to find a way to use the wealth of information that users are voluntarily, and happily disclosing about themselves.

Defining oneself through the brands and how we shop is not new; indeed, it is at the core of fashion and other designer products marketing. For instance, Stylehive is a site allowing members to create profiles, and using their shopping choices to define who they are. According to their site, it is " a social bookmarking community focused entirely on products and shopping." WWRBD? What would Reverend Billy Do?
